The Avanos PNM-S100EOV is a specialized 100 mL enteral syringe from the NeoMed® GravityPro™ line. It is specifically designed for neonatal and pediatric gravity feeding, featuring a unique "vent zone" that allows for a nearly closed system during administration.
Key Features
Integrated Vent Zone:
Features a specific zone at the top of the barrel that allows air to enter the syringe while the plunger remains in place.
Eliminates the need to remove the plunger or use non-aseptic coverings (like cellophane) to facilitate gravity flow.
Integrated Hanger:
Built-in hanger (large and small fenestrations) allows the syringe to be suspended from an IV pole or incubator hook without additional hardware.
Large 100 mL Volume:
Ideal for feeds requiring volumes over 60 mL, reducing the need for multiple syringe changes.
Supports a standard 4-hour feed of up to 25 mL per hour.
Enteral Only (EO) Legacy Tip:
Features a non-threaded enteral-only tip designed to prevent accidental misconnections with IV lines.
Note: This is not an ENFit® connector.
Lipid Delivery Optimization:
Constructed from medical-grade polypropylene, which does not interfere with or absorb lipids (fats) from breast milk, unlike many enteral bags.
