Description
The PSC-2NC is a specialized version of the syringe-to-syringe coupler within the NeoConnect line. While the PSC-1NC is a standard transfer device, the PSC-2NC features a specific design to facilitate the transfer of fluids while managing air or pressure more effectively during pharmacy compounding.
Dual Female ENFit Interface: Features two locking female ports (ISO 80369-3) that securely mate with any male ENFit syringe (from 0.5 mL to 100 mL).
Enhanced Fluid Transfer: Provides a secure, leak-proof bridge to move medications or breast milk from a "source" syringe into a "dispensing" syringe.
Low Dead Space: Internally designed to minimize fluid retention, ensuring that expensive medications or "liquid gold" colostrum are transferred with minimal waste.
Aseptic Closed System: Maintains a protected fluid path during the transfer process, which is critical for protecting the integrity of neonatal nutrition and reducing the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
Global Safety Compliance: Prevents accidental misconnections with IV lines, as the ENFit threads will not mate with Luer-lock or other non-enteral medical devices.
Purple Safety ID: The bright purple color provides immediate visual confirmation that the device is intended for enteral use only, aiding in bedside and pharmacy safety protocols.
Biocompatible Materials: Constructed from medical-grade materials that are Latex-free, DEHP-free, and BPA-free to ensure patient safety, especially for low-birth-weight infants.
Sterility: Provided sterile and individually wrapped for immediate use in high-acuity environments like the NICU.
Packaging: 50 units per dispenser (DSP).
Primary Use Cases
Nutritional Fortification: Transferring breast milk from a mother's collection syringe into a pump-compatible syringe after adding fortifiers.
Medication Batching: Splitting a larger volume of liquid medication prepared in the pharmacy into multiple smaller, precise doses.
Dilution: Mixing a concentrated enteral medication with sterile water or another diluent between two syringes.
