These crutches are reasonably well-made. The pads are there, and they can hold the weight of a child. But for the life of me I don't know why they say they are for 4'-4'6". My child is 49 inches. Set to the tallest height, 4'6", these are still not really tall enough for her when she's barefoot. I'm not returning them because she was instantly obsessed having been stuck in a wheelchair for weeks. But these are really for a slightly shorter child. In inches, these are supposed to go from 48-54 inches. I would say that really they go from 41-47 inches. If you or your child are more than 47 inches, I think they'll be too short. They are about 4 inches below my 49 inch child's arm pit when she's barefoot.
