The BA-03 is a specialized, drug-free procedural tray designed for Ultrasound-Guided continuous peripheral nerve blocks. In the Avanos coding system, the "03" indicates this is a Drug-Free Tray (no Lidocaine included), and the "BA" designates the specific configuration of the Block Accessory kit. This tray is built for clinicians who rely on ultrasound visualization to place a kink-resistant catheter for multi-day pain management.
Key Features
Ultrasound-Optimized Needle: Includes an 18 GA EchoLong* Echogenic Tuohy needle. The needle shaft and tip feature microscopic dimpling to reflect ultrasound waves, providing clear visibility even at steep insertion angles.
Drug-Free Configuration: Does not include local anesthetic (Lidocaine), allowing facilities to utilize their own preferred medications for skin numbing while reducing tray cost and pharmaceutical waste.
SPIROL® Spring-Coiled Catheter: Features a 20 GA x 24-inch catheter with an internal stainless steel coil. This "kink-proof" design ensures that medication delivery from an ON-Q Pump* remains consistent, even if the patient moves or the catheter is bent.
Non-Stimulating Setup: This kit is designed strictly for ultrasound guidance; it does not include the wires or insulation required for electrical nerve stimulation, resulting in a simpler, wireless procedural field.
Complete Ultrasound Prep: Includes all necessary accessories to maintain a sterile field during scanning, including a 48-inch probe cover and sterile gel.
Securement Focus: Includes the LockIT Plus catheter securement device, which is engineered to anchor the catheter to the skin and prevent migration during the 3–5 days the block is typically active.
