Buffer solution (pH 9) is used as a means of keeping the pH at a nearly constant value in different chemical applications. Buffer solution is used in alcoholic fermentation, leather tanning, electroplating, organic synthesis, sugar and paper manufacturing. It is also used in chemical analysis and in calibration of pH meters.
