Description
This model is the standard adult length, large-bore version of the 42-series, which means it is Non-Styleted (no guide wire) and provided Sterile. It is typically selected for adult patients who require a wider tube for easier administration of viscous formulas or medications and for whom a guide wire is not desired or necessary during placement.
Key Features
12 French Large Bore: The 12 Fr diameter is the largest standard bore for this series. It provides a significant internal lumen, which is ideal for reducing the risk of clogging when administering crushed medications or thick, high-protein enteral formulas.
Non-Styleted (No Wire): This tube does not include an insertion stylet. It is intended for clinicians who prefer a "blind" manual insertion without a wire, or for placement via specialized methods (such as endoscopic or fluoroscopic guidance) where a stylet might interfere.
Sterile Packaging: Provided sterile, which is often required for surgical patients, those in the ICU with open wounds, or immunocompromised individuals where aseptic technique is strictly enforced.
Non-Weighted (Clear) Tip: The tube is non-weighted, making it lighter and more comfortable for the patient once positioned in the stomach. The clear tip bolus allows for easy visual inspection to ensure no residue is trapped.
ENFit Safety Connector: Equipped with the purple ISO-standard connector. This ensures the tube is incompatible with IV equipment, preventing potentially fatal tubing misconnections.
ULTRA-LITE* Polyurethane: Stronger and more durable than silicone or PVC, polyurethane allows for thinner walls and a larger internal diameter, maximizing flow rates.
