Polyurethane Construction: The use of polyurethane allows the tube walls to be thinner and stronger than silicone. This provides a larger internal diameter (lumen) for the same French size, which significantly reduces the frequency of clogs from formula or medication.
Anti-Clog Bolus: The "bowed tip" design features an exit port that is actually larger than the internal diameter of the tube. This prevents the accumulation of solids at the tip, which is the most common cause of feeding tube failure.
Flow-Through Stylet: The stylet is designed to allow clinicians to aspirate for gastric contents or flush the tube with water without removing the wire first. This aids in verifying placement at the bedside.
C-19™ Lubricant: The internal lumen and the distal tip are coated with a water-activated lubricant. This ensures the stylet slides out smoothly after placement and makes the insertion process less traumatic for the patient.
