Description
This model is the extra-long version of the CORFLO* series, specifically designed for post-pyloric (small bowel) feeding. It is a non-weighted (clear tip) tube that includes an integrated stylet and utilizes the ENFit safety connector.
Key Features
Extra-Long 55-inch Reach: The 140 cm length is significantly longer than the standard 43-inch adult tube. This extra length is necessary for navigating beyond the stomach and into the duodenum or jejunum, often performed under fluoroscopic or endoscopic guidance.
Non-Weighted (Clear) Tip: While many post-pyloric tubes are weighted, this non-weighted version is preferred when the clinician intends to place the tube manually (using the stylet) or via specialized placement systems where a heavy bolus is not desired.
Integrated Flow-Through Stylet: Includes a braided stainless steel stylet to provide the structural integrity required to navigate the pylorus and the curves of the small intestine. The "flow-through" design allows for aspiration to check placement without removing the wire.
ENFit Safety Connector: Equipped with the purple ISO-standard connector. This prevents accidental misconnections with IV lines, ensuring that enteral nutrition is delivered only to the gastrointestinal tract.
ULTRA-LITE* Polyurethane: Stronger and more durable than silicone, this material allows for thinner walls and a larger internal lumen. This is critical for 10 Fr tubes to ensure that formula and medications flow easily over the longer distance of the tube.
Anti-Clog Technology: Features the ULTRA* anti-clog bolus at the distal tip. The exit port is slightly larger than the internal diameter of the tube, minimizing the risk of occlusions.
