Description
Key Features
8 French Small-Bore Diameter: A thin, flexible lumen optimized for placement into the jejunum. The small diameter minimizes patient discomfort while providing a functional channel for intestinal feeding.
Over-the-Wire (OTW) Placement: Designed to be placed via a 0.035" Teflon-coated guide wire. This technique is typically performed under endoscopic or radiologic guidance to ensure the tube reaches the correct position in the small bowel.
Non-Weighted Distal Tip: This specific model is unweighted, which allows for a lower profile during endoscopic placement and reduces the risk of the tube pulling back when the endoscope is removed.
43-Inch (109 cm) Length: Provides the necessary length to pass through a PEG site and extend deep into the jejunum for post-pyloric feeding.
ENFit® Safety Connector: Most current versions of the 50-1438 are equipped with the purple ISO-standard ENFit® connector to prevent tubing misconnections.
Note: The legacy non-ENFit version is part number 30-1438.
ULTRA-LITE* Polyurethane: Medical-grade, radiopaque material that is stronger than silicone. This allows for thinner walls and a larger internal lumen, which is critical for preventing clogs in a small 8 Fr jejunal tube.
C-19* Water-Activated Lubricant: An internal coating that becomes highly lubricious when wet, facilitating the smooth passage and eventual removal of the guide wire.
