Description
This system is an anatomical "bridling" device. It uses an umbilical tape loop positioned around the nasal septum to provide a secure anchor point for feeding or decompression tubes, preventing patients from accidentally or intentionally pulling them out.
Key Features
Nasal Septum Anchoring: The system uses magnets to guide a piece of polyester umbilical tape around the vomer bone (nasal septum). This creates a loop that cannot be pulled forward through the nostrils, providing much higher security than traditional adhesive tape.
16 French SSL Clamp: The kit includes a specific Slot-Slide-Lock (SSL) clamp sized for 16 French tubes. This clamp is Orange in color for easy identification.
Reduction in Tube Replacement: By virtually eliminating tube dislodgement, the CORGRIP* system reduces the need for repeated tube re-insertions, which lowers the risk of esophageal trauma and decreases the number of confirmatory X-rays required.
Skin Integrity: Because the device is anchored internally around the septum, it eliminates the need for aggressive adhesives on the bridge of the nose, which can lead to skin breakdown in long-term patients.
