Description
This is the small-bore adult version of the CORTRAK-enabled tubes. The "TRAK2" designation indicates it includes a specialized electromagnetic transmitting stylet that allows clinicians to visualize the tube's path in real-time on a monitor during insertion.
Key Features
CORTRAK* 2 Navigation: The integrated stylet contains an electromagnetic coil at the tip. When used with the CORTRAK 2 monitor, it provides a "live" trace of the tube’s path through the anatomy. This allows for immediate bedside confirmation of gastric placement and helps prevent accidental insertion into the lungs.
8 French Small-Bore: The narrow diameter is designed to maximize patient comfort and reduce nasal irritation, making it ideal for conscious patients or those requiring long-term enteral support.
Non-Weighted (Clear) Tip: This tube is non-weighted, making it lighter and more comfortable for the patient once the stylet is removed. Because the CORTRAK system provides guidance, the mechanical weight often used for blind placement is not required.
ENFit Safety Connector: Features the purple ISO 80369-3 standard connector. This prevents accidental misconnections with IV lines, which is a critical safety requirement for enteral feeding.
ULTRA-LITE* Polyurethane: Stronger and more durable than silicone, this material allows for thinner walls and a larger internal lumen relative to the 8 Fr size, which helps maintain flow and reduce the risk of clogs.
