Description
This is the extra-long version of the CORTRAK-enabled tubes, designed for post-pyloric placement (positioning the tip in the duodenum or jejunum). The TRAK2 designation indicates it is engineered for use with the CORTRAK* 2 Enteral Access System (EAS), providing real-time electromagnetic tracking of the tube tip during insertion.
Key Features
CORTRAK* 2 Real-Time Navigation: The stylet contains an electromagnetic coil that transmits its position to the CORTRAK monitor. This allows the clinician to visualize the tube’s path as it maneuvers through the stomach and crosses the pylorus into the small intestine, providing immediate bedside confirmation of successful post-pyloric placement.
Extra-Long 55-inch Length: The 140 cm length provides the necessary reach to transition from the nasal cavity, through the stomach, and deep into the small bowel (nasojejunal feeding).
Non-Weighted (Clear) Tip: Unlike traditional post-pyloric tubes that rely on a heavy tungsten weight to "migrate" through the pylorus, this tube is non-weighted. It relies on the clinician's ability to guide the tube using the real-time CORTRAK visual feedback.
ENFit Safety Connector: Equipped with the purple ISO-standard connector. This ensures the tube only connects to enteral-specific administration sets, eliminating the risk of accidental misconnection to IV lines or other non-enteral devices.
ULTRA-LITE* Polyurethane: Stronger and more durable than silicone, this material allows for a larger internal lumen relative to the 10 Fr size, which is critical for maintaining flow over the 55-inch length.
