Description
This is the small-bore, extra-long version of the CORTRAK-enabled tubes. It is designed for post-pyloric placement (positioning the tip in the duodenum or jejunum) in patients where a thinner tube is preferred for comfort or anatomical reasons.
Key Features
CORTRAK* 2 Navigation: The stylet contains an electromagnetic coil at the tip. When used with the CORTRAK 2 monitor, it provides a "live" trace of the tube’s path through the anatomy. This allows clinicians to guide the tube through the pylorus and into the small bowel at the bedside without necessarily needing fluoroscopy.
Extra-Long 55-inch Reach: The 140 cm length is essential for navigating past the stomach and deep into the small intestine, providing a route for nasojejunal (NJ) feeding.
8 French Small-Bore: The narrow diameter is designed to maximize patient comfort and reduce the risk of nasal mucosal irritation during long-term use.
Non-Weighted (Clear) Tip: This tube is non-weighted. Since the CORTRAK system provides active guidance, the traditional 3g tungsten weight used for "blind" migration is not required, making the tube lighter and more comfortable for the patient.
ENFit Safety Connector: Features the purple ISO 80369-3 standard connector to prevent accidental misconnections with IV lines, ensuring feeding is delivered safely to the GI tract.
