Description
This model is the extra-long, sterile version of the CORTRAK-enabled tubes. It is designed for post-pyloric placement (positioning the tip in the duodenum or jejunum) in patients who require a sterile device due to surgical requirements, immunocompromised status, or facility-specific infection control protocols.
Key Features
CORTRAK* 2 Real-Time Navigation: The stylet contains an electromagnetic coil that communicates with the CORTRAK monitor. This allows the clinician to visualize the tube’s path as it maneuvers through the stomach and crosses the pylorus into the small intestine, providing immediate bedside confirmation of successful post-pyloric placement without needing fluoroscopy.
Sterile Packaging: As part of the 42-series, this tube is provided sterile. This is the primary differentiator from the 40-9551TRAK2, making it suitable for high-acuity environments or intraoperative placement.
Extra-Long 55-inch Reach: The 140 cm length provides the necessary reach to transition from the nasal cavity, through the stomach, and deep into the small bowel for nasojejunal (NJ) feeding.
Non-Weighted (Clear) Tip: This tube is non-weighted. Because the CORTRAK system provides active guidance, the traditional 3g tungsten weight used for "blind" migration is not required, making the tube lighter and more comfortable for the patient.
ENFit Safety Connector: Equipped with the purple ISO-standard connector. This ensures the tube only connects to enteral-specific administration sets, eliminating the risk of accidental misconnection to IV lines.
