Description
Ergonomically designed with contoured catheter housing and a textured hub that creates a nonslip grip for easy handling. These catheters feature a triple-facet, bevel needle with a fully encapsulating needle shield that encases the needle upon full retraction, providing safety without compromising functionality. Begin by removing the safety cap and inspecting the catheter unit. Grasp the device’s front chamber between thumb and fingers, ensuring the advancement tab and needle bevel are up. Perform the venipuncture, observing blood return visible through the catheter flash window for sizes 20, 22, and 24 ga. Lower and advance the catheter by 1/8", keeping it stable as you advance it off the hub and into the vein. Before withdrawing the needle, depress the activation button to retract it fully into the gauge chamber. Observe the valved hub for leakage, connect the IV administration line and promptly discard the unit into an approved sharps container.
