The 10229 is an Avanos Laparoscopic Introducer Kit* specifically designed for the primary surgical placement of 18 Fr Jejunal (J) or Gastric-Jejunal (G-J) feeding tubes.
This kit is part of the specialized surgical line used by surgeons to create a secure stoma and navigate the deeper placement required for small-bowel feeding under laparoscopic visualization.
Key Features
Jejunal Placement Tools: Includes a 5 Fr Seeking Catheter (0.038" guidewire compatible). This specialized tool allows the surgeon to navigate the guidewire more easily through the stomach and into the jejunum during the procedure.
22 Fr Serial Dilator: Features a telescoping dilator that expands the stoma tract to 22 Fr, providing the necessary clearance for a 18 Fr balloon-retained tube (like the MIC-KEY* G-J tube) to be inserted without trauma.
Integrated Peel-Away Sheath: The dilator comes with a sheath that can be peeled away once the feeding tube is in position, ensuring a smooth transition and reducing surgical steps.
SAF-T-PEXY T-Fasteners:* Contains a gastrointestinal anchor set with four pre-loaded T-fasteners. These secure the gastric or jejunal wall to the abdominal wall, creating a permanent, safe tract and preventing internal leakage.
Precision Measuring: Includes an over-the-wire stoma measuring device to accurately determine the length of the tract, ensuring the patient receives a tube with the correct bolster-to-balloon length.
