Description

The Avanos 0106-12 is a MIC* Feeding Tube Extension Set. This is a 12-inch "legacy" (non-ENFit) extension designed to bridge the gap between a feeding source (such as a pump set or syringe) and a traditional-length MIC* feeding tube.

It is double the length of the 0105-06 model, providing extra reach for patients who may be feeding while in a wheelchair, bed, or high chair.

Key Features

  • 12-Inch Length: Offers significant flexibility and "slack," allowing the patient to move more freely during a feeding session without pulling on the stoma site.

  • Bolus and Stepped Connectors:

    • One end features a Bolus Connector, which is compatible with standard catheter-tip syringes.

    • The other end features a Stepped Connector (tapered), designed to fit into the feeding or medication ports of traditional-length G, J, or G-J tubes.

  • Integrated Tubing Clamp: A plastic slide clamp is attached to the tubing, allowing the caregiver to immediately stop the flow to prevent leaks or to manage gastric pressure during connection/disconnection.

  • Medical-Grade Materials: Made of high-clarity, biocompatible, and latex-free silicone. It is also DEHP-free.

  • Single-Patient Use: While provided in individual packaging, these sets are typically washed with warm, soapy water and reused for several days (following a clinician's protocol) before being replaced.

Compatibility

This extension set is specifically for traditional-length tubes. It is not compatible with low-profile "button" (MIC-KEY*) tubes, as those require a different locking connector (SECUR-LOK*).
