Technical Description
The 0210-18LV is a dual-lumen silicone tube that provides access to both the stomach and the small intestine. It is characterized by a shorter jejunal tail and a smaller internal retention balloon compared to the standard model.
Outer Diameter: 18 Fr (Standard adult/adolescent bore)
Jejunal Length: 30 cm (vs. 57.9 cm in the standard version)
Balloon Volume: 3–5 ml (vs. 7–10 ml in the standard version)
Material: 100% medical-grade silicone
Weighting: Tungsten-weighted distal tip
Key Features
Low-Volume (LV) Balloon: The smaller 3–5 ml silicone balloon is designed to occupy less space within the stomach. This prevents the balloon from obstructing the gastric outlet in patients with limited abdominal space.
Shorter Jejunal Tail (30 cm): The reduced length of the jejunal segment is ideal for patients with shorter small bowel anatomy, ensuring the feeding tip remains correctly positioned without excessive coiling.
Dual-Port Hub: Features separate, clearly labeled ports. The Gastric port is used for venting air or draining fluids from the stomach, while the Jejunal port allows for continuous nutrition delivery.
Tungsten-Weighted Tip: Helps the tube maintain its position past the pylorus and reduces the risk of "retrograde migration" (the tube flipping back into the stomach).
SECUR-LOK External Bolster:* A signature Avanos feature that secures the tube at the skin. It is elevated to allow air to circulate around the stoma, which is critical for preventing skin breakdown.
Radiopaque Stripe: A built-in line allows for easy verification of the tube and the 30 cm tail's position under X-ray or fluoroscopy.
