Description
The Avanos 0100-30 is a MIC* Gastrostomy (G) Feeding Tube. It is a traditional-length (long) tube used for patients who require enteral nutrition, medication delivery, or gastric decompression directly into the stomach.
This model is a 30 French diameter tube. This is a very large-bore tube, often used when high-volume gastric drainage is required or when the patient is receiving high-viscosity (thick) formulas or blenderized diets that would easily clog smaller tubes.
Key Features
Traditional Length: Unlike low-profile "buttons," this tube extends approximately 12 inches from the body. This makes it easier for patients with limited mobility or dexterity to manage their own feedings.
30 French Diameter: The largest standard size available in the MIC* G-tube line, offering maximum flow rates and resistance to clogging.
Medical-Grade Silicone: Constructed from high-clarity, biocompatible silicone designed to reduce tissue irritation and remain flexible over time.
Inflatable Retention Balloon: A silicone internal balloon (typically inflated with 7–10 mL of sterile water) holds the tube securely against the stomach wall.
SECUR-LOK* External Bolster: A sliding ring that sits at the skin level to keep the tube from migrating inward while allowing air to circulate around the stoma to prevent moisture buildup and skin breakdown.
Dual-Port Design: The proximal end features a "Y-port" with two separate openings:
Feeding Port: For formula delivery.
Medication Port: For flushing or administering meds without disconnecting the main feeding line.
Radiopaque Stripe: A stripe runs the length of the tube to allow for easy visualization and position confirmation under X-ray.
