Description
The Avanos 0123-24 is a MIC* Jejunal (J) Feeding Tube. It is a traditional-length (long) tube designed for patients who cannot tolerate gastric feeding and require nutrition delivered directly into the small intestine (jejunum).
The 0123 series is distinguished by its trimmable distal tip, allowing clinicians to customize the tube's length during the placement procedure to fit the patient's specific anatomy.
Key Features
24 French Diameter: A large-bore tube size for adult patients. The wider internal lumen (opening) allows for higher flow rates and significantly reduces the risk of clogging compared to smaller 12 or 14 Fr J-tubes.
Trimmable Length: The internal end of the tube can be cut by the physician to ensure the tip is positioned correctly within the jejunum without coiling or moving back into the stomach.
7–10 mL Retention Balloon: A medical-grade silicone balloon used to anchor the tube against the intestinal wall.
Medical-Grade Silicone: High-clarity, biocompatible silicone construction that is soft and flexible, helping to minimize mucosal irritation.
SECUR-LOK* External Retention Ring: A sliding bolster that holds the tube securely at the skin level. The ring is ventilated to allow air to circulate around the stoma, which helps prevent skin breakdown.
Radiopaque Stripe & Tip: A visible line runs the length of the tube, and the distal tip is radiopaque to ensure placement can be confirmed and monitored via X-ray or fluoroscopy.
