The Avanos 0230-14-2.3 is a MIC-KEY* Low-Profile Jejunal (J) Feeding Tube Kit. This specialized enteral access device is designed for patients who cannot tolerate gastric feeding and require a direct route into the small intestine (jejunum).
This model features a 14 French diameter and a 2.3 cm stoma length. The 2.3 cm length is intended for patients with a slightly thicker-than-average abdominal wall, ensuring the low-profile "button" sits comfortably without being too tight against the skin.

Dedicated Jejunal Access: Bypasses the stomach entirely, making it the preferred choice for patients with severe gastroparesis, chronic reflux, or a high risk of aspiration.
Low-Profile Design: The external "button" sits flush against the skin. This improves patient comfort, is more discreet under clothing, and reduces the risk of the tube being snagged or pulled out compared to standard long tubes.
Trimmable 82 cm Jejunal Segment: The tube comes with a long, high-clarity silicone distal segment. This is clinically trimmed by the placing physician to the specific depth required by the patient's anatomy (typically verified via fluoroscopy).
Medical-Grade Silicone: Constructed from biocompatible, high-clarity silicone that is durable yet flexible to reduce tissue irritation.
Internal Retention Balloon: A silicone balloon (typically inflated with 3–5 mL of sterile water for 14 Fr) holds the tube securely in the small bowel.
Anti-Reflux Valve: A built-in valve in the proximal head prevents the backflow of intestinal contents when the extension set is disconnected.
