Description
The Avanos 2120-18-4.5 is a MIC-KEY Low-Profile Gastrostomy (G) Feeding Tube*. Unlike the GJ-tubes previously discussed, this is a standard Gastrostomy tube designed for patients who require long-term delivery of nutrition, medication, or decompression directly into the stomach only.
The model number specifies its dimensions: 18 Fr diameter and a longer 4.5 cm stoma length.
Key Features
Single-Port Access: Features one primary feeding port for delivery of nutrition and medication directly into the stomach.
Low-Profile Design: Sits flush against the skin, making it highly discreet under clothing and reducing the potential for accidental snagging or trauma to the stoma site.
Deep Stoma Reach: The 4.5 cm stoma length is specifically designed for patients with a significant amount of subcutaneous tissue or a thicker abdominal wall.
Recessed Distal Tip: Designed to maximize flow and minimize gastric irritation by keeping the tip of the tube away from the stomach lining.
Proximal Anti-Reflux Valve: Includes an internal valve located at the top of the tube to prevent stomach contents from leaking out when an extension set is not connected.
Medical-Grade Silicone: Constructed from high-clarity silicone for superior biocompatibility and patient comfort.
