The 7150-20 is a comprehensive kit for the primary endoscopic placement of a gastrostomy tube using the Push (Over-the-Wire) method. At 20 French, this is the most common diameter for adult patients, providing a larger lumen that is less prone to clogging than the 14 French models.
Key Features
Push Placement Method: Designed for "Over-the-Wire" insertion, where the tube is pushed through the abdominal wall into the stomach. This is often preferred when the physician wants to maintain a continuous endoscopic view of the gastric wall.
Medical-Grade Silicone: High-clarity silicone construction ensures the tube remains flexible and biocompatible, minimizing irritation to the stoma tract.
Traction Removable: Features a collapsible internal dome bumper. Once the stoma tract is fully matured, the tube can be removed via firm traction, often avoiding a repeat endoscopic procedure.
SECUR-LOK External Bolster:* A sliding retention ring with built-in ventilation spacers. These spacers keep the bolster slightly off the skin to allow air circulation, preventing moisture buildup and skin maceration.
Radiopaque Stripe: A high-contrast line runs the length of the tube to allow for quick and clear position verification under X-ray or fluoroscopy.
