Description
The 7160-24 is the high-capacity 24 French version of the MIC* PEG Pull Kit. It is designed for primary endoscopic placement using the PULL (Over-the-Wire) method. This specific model is the largest diameter in the 7160 series, making it the preferred choice for adult patients who require high-viscosity "real food" diets or those who have recurring issues with tube clogging.
Key Features
High-Flow Diameter: The 24 Fr lumen is the largest available, providing maximum flow rates for high-volume feeding and significantly reducing the risk of obstruction from thick formulas or crushed medications.
PULL Placement Method: This technique is a clinical standard where the tube is attached to a placement wire and pulled through the esophagus and out the abdominal wall, ensuring a secure and seated internal bumper.
Traction Removable: Features a collapsible internal dome bumper that allows the tube to be removed via firm traction through the stoma once the tract has fully matured, typically avoiding a second endoscopic procedure.
SECUR-LOK External Bolster:* A sliding retention ring with integrated ventilation spacers. These spacers keep the bolster slightly elevated to allow air to circulate around the stoma, preventing moisture buildup and skin maceration.
Medical-Grade Silicone: Constructed from high-clarity silicone for biocompatibility and flexibility, which enhances patient comfort and reduces irritation to the stoma tract.
Radiopaque Stripe: A high-contrast marker runs the length of the tube for clear position confirmation via X-ray or fluoroscopy.
