Key Features
Standard Kit Configuration: The 8160 series is the Standard (non-safety) version of the kit. It contains the same high-quality MIC* tube as the safety series but utilizes standard (non-shielded) needles and scalpels.
Pull Placement Method: In this procedure, a looped placement wire is passed endoscopically and used to "pull" the PEG tube down through the esophagus and out through the abdominal incision until the internal bumper is seated against the stomach wall.
Optimal 20 Fr Diameter: This size is considered the "gold standard" for most adults. It is large enough to prevent frequent clogging from medications and standard formulas while remaining comfortable for the patient.
Medical-Grade Silicone: The tube is constructed from high-quality silicone, which is durable, flexible, and designed for long-term placement (typically replaced every 6 to 12 months).
Internal Retention Bumper: Features a collapsible internal silicone bumper that secures the tube in the stomach. Unlike balloon-style tubes, this bumper is mechanical and cannot deflate, providing a very secure initial placement.
