Large 24 Fr Diameter: This model features the widest lumen in the MIC* PEG line. It is specifically designed for patients who require high-viscosity (thick) formulas or those who frequently experience tube clogging with smaller 14 Fr or 20 Fr sizes.
Standard Kit Configuration: Part of the 8160 series, this is the Standard (non-safety) version. It utilizes high-quality MIC* components but features standard (non-shielded) needles and scalpels rather than the "Safety" versions found in the 8180 series.
Pull Placement Method: The most common PEG technique where a looped placement wire is passed endoscopically and used to "pull" the tube from the mouth, through the esophagus, and out the abdominal wall until seated.
Medical-Grade Silicone: Constructed from high-quality silicone that remains flexible and durable. The 24 Fr tube is designed to be well-tolerated by the stoma tract over several months of use.
Internal Retention Bumper: Employs a collapsible internal silicone bumper to secure the tube in the stomach. Because it is a mechanical bumper rather than a balloon, it provides a very reliable and stable initial placement.
ENFit Connectors:* Fully compliant with ISO 80369-3 standards, ensuring the tube is only compatible with enteral feeding sets to prevent accidental and dangerous connections to IV lines.
