The 7170-20 is the 20 French version of the MIC* J Feeding Tube kit, designed for primary endoscopic placement into the jejunum (small intestine) using the PULL (Over-the-Wire) method. At 20 Fr, this tube provides a larger internal diameter than the pediatric-focused 14 Fr models, making it the preferred choice for adult patients who require long-term post-pyloric feeding.
Key Features
Direct Jejunal Access: Specifically engineered for patients who cannot tolerate gastric feeding (due to gastroparesis, reflux, or gastric outlet obstruction), delivering nutrition directly into the small intestine.
Medical-Grade Silicone: High-clarity silicone construction provides the necessary flexibility to navigate the anatomy while minimizing irritation to the sensitive intestinal mucosa.
Traction Removable: Features a collapsible internal dome bumper that allows the tube to be removed via firm traction through the stoma once the tract has fully matured (typically 6–8 weeks).
SECUR-LOK External Bolster:* A sliding retention ring that secures the tube at the skin level. It includes ventilation spacers that allow air to circulate around the stoma, preventing moisture-related skin breakdown and infection.
Radiopaque Stripe: A built-in high-contrast line facilitates easy visualization and confirmation of the tube's position under X-ray or fluoroscopy.
