Description
The 7170-24 is the high-capacity 24 French version of the MIC* J Feeding Tube kit. It is designed for the primary endoscopic placement of a feeding tube directly into the jejunum (small intestine) using the PULL (Over-the-Wire) method. At 24 Fr, this is the largest diameter available for intestinal feeding, offering the best possible flow rate and resistance to clogging.
Key Features
Direct Jejunal Access: Specifically engineered for patients with gastric dysfunction (such as severe gastroparesis or gastric outlet obstruction) who require nutrition delivered directly into the small intestine.
Maximum Lumen Diameter: The 24 Fr size provides a wide internal channel, which is critical for preventing the frequent occlusions common in jejunal feeding due to the length of the tube and the nature of intestinal motility.
Traction Removable: Equipped with a collapsible internal dome bumper that allows the tube to be removed via firm traction through the stoma once the tract has fully matured (typically 6–8 weeks).
SECUR-LOK External Bolster:* A sliding retention ring with integrated ventilation spacers. These spacers hold the bolster away from the skin to allow air circulation, significantly reducing the risk of skin maceration and infection at the stoma site.
Medical-Grade Silicone: Constructed from high-clarity silicone for biocompatibility and flexibility, which is essential for minimizing irritation to the sensitive intestinal mucosa.
Radiopaque Stripe: A high-contrast line runs the entire length of the tube to ensure easy position verification via X-ray or fluoroscopy.
