Description
The FT11X12 is an ON-Q Disposable Fluid Tunneler and Sheath* manufactured by Avanos Medical. This surgical instrument is used during the placement of ON-Q* catheters to create a subcutaneous path (tunnel) from the surgical incision to a secondary exit site.
Unlike standard tunnelers, the Fluid Tunneler is designed with a hollow lumen that allows clinicians to inject local anesthetic or saline while advancing the tool, facilitating easier passage through tissue.
Key Features
Fluid Delivery Design: The "FT" prefix stands for Fluid Tunneler. It features a port that allows for the simultaneous delivery of fluids (hydro-dissection) to help separate tissue planes as the tunneler is advanced.
Ergonomic Handle: Features a customized grip designed for precise control and ease of manipulation during the tunneling procedure.
Blunt Tip Safety: The blunt tip allows for deeper access while minimizing the risk of accidental needle-stick injuries or damage to underlying structures.
T-Peel Sheaths: The kit includes two disposable T-Peel introducer sheaths. Once the tunneler creates the path, the sheath remains in place to guide the catheter into the correct position, after which the sheath is peeled away.
Large Diameter: The 11-gauge size is robust, providing a stable track for the catheter.
