Description
The PM010 is an ON-Q Pain Relief System with a Standard Soaker Catheter** manufactured by Avanos Medical. This system is a portable, non-narcotic infusion pump designed to deliver local anesthetic directly to a surgical site or near a nerve to provide continuous post-operative pain relief.
Unlike the "-A" models (SilverSoaker*), the PM010 uses a Standard Soaker* catheter, which provides uniform drug delivery but does not have the antimicrobial silver coating.
Key Features
Standard Soaker Catheter:* Features a 2.5-inch (6.4 cm) infusion segment. It uses a hollow-fiber design to diffuse the anesthetic evenly across the surgical field, which is more effective than traditional "holed" catheters that can lead to uneven distribution.
Compact 100 ml Reservoir: The elastomeric "balloon" pump is small and lightweight, making it ideal for day surgeries or procedures requiring a lower volume of medication.
Fixed Flow Rate: The rate is factory-set to 2 ml/hr, ensuring a consistent and safe delivery of medication without the risk of accidental adjustment by the patient.
Non-Narcotic Analgesia: By targeting pain at its source, the system helps reduce the need for systemic opioids, potentially decreasing side effects like nausea, vomiting, and dizziness.
No Electronics: The pump is entirely mechanical, powered by the tension of the elastomeric reservoir, meaning no batteries or power sources are required.
