Description
The TB100ST is the model number for the Avanos ON-Q T-Bloc Echogenic Stimulating Needle and Catheter Set**.
Moving away from the digestive and vascular systems, this product belongs to Avanos’s Acute Pain Management line. It is used by anesthesiologists to perform Peripheral Nerve Blocks (PNB), which provide targeted, long-lasting pain relief by numbing specific nerves before or after surgery.
Avanos ON-Q* T-Bloc* Needle & Catheter Set (TB100ST)
The "T-Bloc" system is designed for "Continuous Nerve Blocks." This means a needle is used to place a small catheter near a nerve, allowing pain medication (local anesthetic) to be infused continuously over several days, often using an ON-Q* Pump.

Key Components & Features
Echogenic Stimulating Needle: The needle has microscopic "dimples" that reflect ultrasound waves, making the needle tip highly visible on a monitor. The "Stimulating" feature allows the doctor to connect a nerve stimulator to the needle to confirm correct placement via a muscle twitch.
SPIROL® Spring-Coiled Catheter: Unlike standard plastic tubes, this catheter is reinforced with a stainless steel spring coil. This makes it highly resistant to kinking or collapsing, ensuring the medication flow is never blocked by the patient's movements.
Closed-Tip Catheter with 3 Lateral Ports: The end of the catheter is rounded (closed) to be gentle on tissue, and the medication is dispersed through three side holes spaced 120 degrees apart for even distribution around the nerve.
Removable Inner Stylet: Provides the catheter with the necessary stiffness for accurate placement; once the catheter is in position, the stylet is removed.
LockIT Plus® Securement: Typically included in the set to tape the catheter firmly to the patient's skin, preventing it from being accidentally pulled out.
