Key Features
Dual-Site Delivery: Allows for the simultaneous treatment of two independent incisions or two distinct regions of a large surgical field using a single pump reservoir.
Extended 5-Inch Soakers: With a 5-inch infusion segment on each of the two catheters, this kit provides a combined 10 inches of coverage. This is ideal for extensive surgical sites where uniform medication distribution is critical over a large area.
Antimicrobial Protection: The SilverSoaker* technology utilizes a silver coating to inhibit bacterial growth on the catheter, reducing the risk of infection during the multi-day recovery period.
High Reservoir Capacity: The 400 mL volume paired with a 4 mL/hr flow rate provides approximately 100 hours (over 4 days) of continuous therapy.
Mechanical Infusion: Driven by an elastomeric balloon, the pump is purely mechanical and requires no electronics or batteries, ensuring patient mobility and ease of use at home.
Primary Uses
The PS12508-A is typically selected for major surgical cases requiring significant coverage and long-duration pain management, such as:
Bilateral Major Surgeries: Bilateral breast reconstruction, bilateral hernia repairs, or bilateral orthopedic procedures.
Extensive Abdominal Surgery: Long incisions from procedures like open colectomies or major ventral hernia repairs.
Complex Spinal Surgery: Coverage for long, multi-level spinal incisions where two catheters are needed for full-length infiltration.
Large Plastic Surgery Cases: Extensive wound infiltration following high-volume procedures like a full abdominoplasty.
