Description
The TB089T is a specialized procedural tray designed for Ultrasound-Guided continuous peripheral nerve blocks. The "089" indicates a 3.5-inch (89 mm) needle length, which is a common size for clinicians who prefer a slightly shorter, more maneuverable needle than the standard 100 mm for adult nerve blocks. The "T" suffix signifies that the needle is an Echogenic Tuohy (ultrasound visible) but is Non-Stimulating.
Key Features
Ultrasound Visibility: The 89 mm EchoLong* Tuohy needle is treated with microscopic dimpling along the shaft and tip. This echogenic surface reflections provide clear visibility under ultrasound, even when the needle is inserted at steep angles.
Specialized Length (89 mm): The 3.5-inch length is often preferred for blocks where the nerve is moderately deep but a 4-inch needle feels excessive, such as certain Femoral or Adductor Canal blocks.
Kink-Resistant SPIROL® Catheter: Includes a 20 GA x 24-inch spring-coiled catheter with an internal stainless steel coil. This ensures that the flow of local anesthetic from an ON-Q Pump* is not pinched or interrupted by patient movement.
Drug-Free Tray: This kit does not include local anesthetic (Lidocaine), allowing the clinical team to use their facility's preferred drug for skin numbing while reducing pharmaceutical waste.
SECUR-LOK / LockIT Plus:* Features a high-performance catheter securement device designed to anchor the catheter for several days, preventing migration—the leading cause of block failure.
