Description
The ACC09S is an ON-Q Tunneler Introducer Sheath* manufactured by Avanos Medical. This sterile, single-use surgical accessory is designed to facilitate the placement of catheters for the ON-Q* Pain Relief System, particularly in cases requiring high-volume delivery.
Key Features
T-Peel (Peel-Away) Design: The sheath features a longitudinal "peel-away" mechanism. Once the catheter is threaded into the target area, the clinician peels the sheath apart into two halves to remove it, ensuring the catheter remains in the exact desired position.
Large Diameter (11 Gauge): The 11-gauge size is significantly larger than the standard 17-gauge sheaths. This allows for the insertion of larger-diameter catheters or those with special coatings (such as antimicrobial SilverSoaker* catheters) that may require more clearance.
Extended Reach: With a 12-inch (30 cm) length, this sheath is designed for deep or exceptionally long subcutaneous tunnels, common in major abdominal surgeries or extensive wound sites.
Safe Guidance: Provides a smooth conduit through tissue, protecting the catheter from debris and preventing it from kinking or looping during the initial placement phase.
