Description
The FT16X8 is an ON-Q Disposable Fluid Tunneler and Sheath*. This surgical instrument is used to create a subcutaneous track for the placement of an ON-Q* pain management catheter, featuring a standard 8-inch length and a 16-gauge diameter.
Key Features
Fluid Injection (Hydro-dissection): The tunneler is equipped with a hollow lumen and a port that allows surgeons to inject saline or local anesthetic while advancing the tool. This "hydro-dissection" helps gently separate tissue planes, making the procedure smoother and reducing tissue trauma.
T-Peel Sheath System: The kit includes two disposable T-Peel introducer sheaths. After the tunneler creates the path, it is removed, leaving the sheath in place. The catheter is then threaded through the sheath, which is "peeled" away for easy removal.
Blunt Tip Safety: Engineered with a blunt tip to navigate through the subcutaneous space safely, minimizing the risk of accidental puncture of blood vessels or damage to deeper tissue structures.
Ergonomic Handle: Features a large, textured handle that provides the clinician with a secure grip and excellent control for steady advancement.
