How They Are Used
The primary use for these valves is in a CPR or first aid training classroom setting. The process is as follows:
An instructor provides a sanitized CPR training mask and a new, clean Practi-Valve to each student.
The student inserts the valve into the port on the CPR mask.
The mask is then placed over the mouth and nose of a CPR manikin.
The student practices delivering rescue breaths through the valve, which allows their air to enter the manikin's lungs.
After the practice session is complete, the student disposes of the used valve. The mask is then collected to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before being used in a future class with a new valve.
