Clinical Features
Contained Pulverization: The zip-closure hermetically seals the medication during the crushing process. This prevents the aerosolization of drug particles, minimizing caregiver exposure to hazardous medication dust and ensuring 100% dose retention.
Clog Prevention: Designed to withstand the mechanical pressure of rolling and crushing, the pouch allows for a "two-stage" pulverization that yields a fine powder. This is critical for preventing occlusions in narrow-bore feeding tubes, such as 12 French (RA-0012) or 16 French (RA-0016) models.
Closed-System Suspension: Once pulverized, water or diluent can be added directly into the pouch to create a suspension, which is then drawn into an enteral syringe (such as an ENFit syringe).
