The Avanos 182A142 is a Single-Shot Epidural Tray designed for the efficient delivery of a one-time dose of anesthetic or therapeutic medication into the epidural space. This tray is particularly notable for its 20 Gauge x 3.5 inch Tuohy Needle, a standard size that balances a thinner profile with the rigidity needed for precise placement.
Key Features
20G x 3.5" Tuohy Needle: The needle features depth graduations and wings for a stable grip. The Tuohy tip is designed to facilitate the "loss of resistance" (LOR) technique while minimizing the risk of accidental dural puncture.
7 mL LOR Syringe: Includes a specialized plastic Loss of Resistance (LOR) syringe with a Luer Slip tip. This syringe has a low-friction plunger to help the clinician feel the distinct change in pressure upon entering the epidural space.
Comprehensive Procedural Kit: The tray is "all-in-one," meaning it includes the necessary pharmaceuticals (Lidocaine), prep materials, and safety accessories to perform the block from start to finish without opening additional supplies.
Sterility & Safety: The tray is EO-sterile, single-use, and wrapped in a large 30" x 30" alcohol-repellent CSR wrap that creates an extensive sterile field. It also features a Needle Stick Pad for secure sharps disposal.
