Description
The Avanos 182A110 is a Single-Shot Epidural Tray. This specialized procedural kit is designed for the administration of a single dose of anesthetic or therapeutic medication into the epidural space. Unlike the 182A107, which features a Hustead needle, this tray utilizes a standard Tuohy Needle.
The primary needle in this kit is an 18 Gauge x 3.5 inch Tuohy Needle, recognized as the clinical standard for identifying the epidural space using the "loss of resistance" (LOR) technique.
Key Features
18G x 3.5" Tuohy Needle: The needle is graduated (marked with depth measurements) and includes wings to provide the clinician with superior control and a steady grip during insertion.
Loss of Resistance (LOR) Syringe: Includes a specialized 7 mL plastic LOR syringe (Luer Slip), which is designed with low-friction plungers to help the clinician feel the change in pressure when the needle enters the epidural space.
Comprehensive Pharmaceuticals: Contains pre-filled or vial-ready local anesthetics and saline, reducing the need to pull separate supplies from the pharmacy.
Sterility & Safety: The tray is EO-sterile and single-use. It features a Needle Stick Pad for secure disposal of sharps and is wrapped in a 24" x 24" alcohol-repellent CSR wrap to establish a large sterile field.
