The Avanos 98701 (formerly Halyard/Kimberly-Clark) is a Gastrointestinal Anchor Set with SAF-T-PEXY T-Fasteners*. This is a specialized surgical accessory used in digestive health for the primary placement of enteral feeding tubes (such as MIC* or MIC-KEY* gastrostomy tubes).
Key Features
SAF-T-PEXY T-Fasteners:* These fasteners are designed to affix the stomach to the anterior abdominal wall (gastropexy). This secures the stomach in place and creates a safe tract for the initial insertion of a feeding tube.
Absorbable Suture: Each fastener uses 3-0 Biosyn monofilament absorbable suture*. This eliminates the need for a follow-up visit to remove sutures, as they naturally break down over time.
Pre-loaded Safety Needles: The set includes needles pre-loaded with the T-fasteners. These feature safety mechanisms to protect clinicians from accidental needle sticks during the procedure.
Low-Profile Bumper: The external retention bumper has a smooth, rounded design for patient comfort and hygiene. It features an audible "click" bolster locking mechanism, ensuring the fastener is securely tensioned.
